Open-source · Self-hosted · UK-first
PayrollOS is a transparent UK payroll platform built for organisations that want clear controls, portable data and infrastructure they can own.
Early test release · Synthetic data only · No live submissions or payments
A different foundation
Payroll is too consequential for vague status messages and invisible authority.
Run the platform on infrastructure you control, with documented backup, restore and upgrade paths.
Scope access by organisation and employer, separate preparation from approval, and retain tamper-evident events.
Inspect the source, challenge decisions and contribute improvements under an open-source licence.
First working slice
The current LAN release connects real interfaces to a tenant-scoped API and synthetic-only data.
Mandatory enrolment, active-session controls and audited account access.
Employer, PAYE scheme and employee workflows with masked sensitive values.
A deterministic illustrative calculation with exceptions and independent approval.
Labelled historical records and truthful test-only connector configuration.
Release boundary
This is an early, synthetic-only engineering release. Its calculation is illustrative—not a statutory UK payroll engine—and it cannot submit RTI, send pension data, post accounting journals or move money.
That boundary is deliberate. Each consequential capability remains disabled until its own validation, security and operational release gates have passed.
